He spent the whole of August burying himself in work and crying himself to sleep. His significant other had left him for America, to pursue some education that he doesn’t see value in.

 

Jin left. The same Jin that made life as a Johnny’s Junior so much more fun. The same Jin that brought him on a fun, though slightly nightmarish, trip to Okinawa. The same Jin that called him his “sukibito”.

 

The exact same Jin that he fought with Yamapi over.

 

The same Jin that told him he will always be with him on the set of Gokusen 2.

 

The same Jin that gave him a bouquet of flowers and a soft toy on his birthday on the filming set.

 

The same Jin that left him with nothing but tears.

 

 

Yamapi was the last person Kame thought he would turn to when Jin was gone.

 

But when he hid behind the pillars and silently watched Jin went through the departure gates, no one recognized him behind the shades and thick clothing. No one except Yamapi.

 

He held his breath when Yamapi walked towards him, his eyes laden with the same emotion of sadness.

 

“ I didn’t think that you’d lose him too.”

 

These words made him just lose control of the tears he had been holding back. Just as he was about to fall, Yamapi caught him in his strong arms.

 

“Let me take his place while he’s gone…” Yamapi whispered.

 

Kame nodded weakly as he found himself enveloped in the other’s warmth.

 

 

Being with Yamapi was like being with Jin. He was funny, very hyperactive, eats a lot and goes crazy from time to time. But Kame was careful to keep his distance; as much as he loved having someone to share his life with, he was not fully prepared to have Jin replaced.

 

“Hiroto-kun~ wave that torch back at me..” Yamapi whined as he waved an orange that he was eating frantically at Kame who just reached home.

 

“ That’s not funny…” Kame mumbled, holding back a laugh at Yamapi’s poor imitation of Ayase.  Filming on the set of Tatta Hitotsu no Koi had really drained him of his energy.

 

“Ne.. or you prefer me as Akira?” Yamapi pouted as he did the ‘kon’ hand sign on Kame’s nose.

 

“I like you. As Yamashita Tomohisa.” Kame said as he looked away at the television.

 

“Hontou! Yay!” Yamapi cheered at Kame’s comment and burst into a loud off-pitched rendition of Daite Seniorita.

 

Kame laughed.

 

 

His heart beat furiously as he felt the other inch closer and closer.

 

Too close for comfort.

 

The next thing he knew, he felt soft lips pressed against his, which he instinctively pushed away.

 

“ You still can’t forget him, right?” Yamapi asked, his eyes glimmered with slight disappointment.

 

Kame nodded gingerly.

 

“ Am I not good enough for you?”

 

Kame shook his head.

 

“You’re great. You’re fun, caring and really treat me like a princess.” Kame started, “ But… you must know…Jin… his place in my heart … is irreplaceable.”

 

Without a word, Yamapi let go of the small figure he had trapped against the wall moments ago and headed for the door.

 

“ I understand.” Was the last words Kame heard before the doors slammed shut.

 

At that moment, Kame felt the world has left him… alone. Just like Yamapi did.

Just like Jin did.

 

 

“ Kame… is anything wrong?”

 

This was a question that the rest of KAT-TUN found themselves constantly asking the youngest member of the group.

 

The already skinny and anorexic looking figure looked pale and sickly, too unhealthy to even pull off another dance number on stage. Ueda asked the manager to request for the programme to change their performance from Real Face to Bokura no Machi De. Maybe then, it won’t be that taxing to that poor boy.

 

Koki made himself useful by getting Kame a drink or a snack from time to time. He knew something was up when he found Yamapi extremely pissed on one of the days of filming for Byakkotai. And he concluded that something was up with Kame stumbled onto the backstage of Music Station, looking like he stayed up the whole night crying.

 

“ Is anything wrong?” Maru asked again, sitting beside Kame who had his head in his hands.

 

“ I miss him.” Came a soft and barely audible whisper.

 

“ We all do.” Junno said in his best serious tone. “ But we have to pull ourselves together right?”

 

“What would you do if Ueda left us to join a rock band?” Kame asked Junno, looking up, his eyes still red and face soaked in tears.

 

Junno found himself dumbfounded and stared at his boyfriend, who gave him a sign to keep quiet.

 

It was silent in the dressing room, till they were cued for their performance.

 

Horror:

 

It wasn’t true.

 

Kame stared hard at the photographs that were taken of Jin.

 

Jin who looked fatter then before, drunk and hugging a Caucasian girl in each arm, grinning like an idiot at the camera.

 

He pinched himself to make sure he was not dreaming and this was the tabloid magazine that was known among the celebrities to have the most accurate information.

“Have he forgotten me?” Kame thought.

 

A lot of other random thoughts started to flood his mind. But he shut them off and came to a conclusion.

 

Maybe Jin liked his lovers with a bit of cushion.

 

With that, Kame called for a double order of squid sushi.

 

 

At the Countdown, Kame found himself face to face with Yamapi again.

 

“Your hair looks very long.”

 

“Does it remind you of him?”

 

Kame fell silent as he looked at the Yamapi before him, with the hair style that was a dead ringer for Jin’s. He nodded.

 

“Will you love me because I look like him now?” Yamapi asked.

 

Biting his lips, Kame shook his head.

 

“Good.” Yamapi suddenly pulled Kame into a hug.

 

“ I applaud your loyalty.” He said, “ I didn’t lose Jin to you in middle school for nothing.”

 

“So…friends?” Kame asked.

 

“ Always will be.” Yamapi said as he let go of Kame and did a ‘kon’ handsign on his nose.

 

Kame smiled.

 

 

Kame stared at his laptop screen in disbelief.

 

 

New York.

 

The words echoed in Kame’s head as he took great effort in digesting this surprising information. He is going to the States. With KAT-TUN. Most importantly, he can go and check on Jin.

 

It will be the first time they meet for months. At that thought, Kame felt his body ache for the lack of Jin’s attention.

 

He thought of Jin’s kisses and the way Jin never took his eyes off him. He thought of Jin’s warmth and the times when they cuddle up to watch a sappy drama. More and more sweet memories with Jin flooded back into his mind.

 

Kame felt the other parts of his body react to his thoughts.

 

He need to get there as soon as possible.

 

 

“Does my ass look big in this?” Kame asked Yamapi as he looked into the mirror at the new jeans he was buying.

 

“ You don’t have an ass, get over it.” Yamapi said, examining his new open-chest top.

 

Kame rolled his eyes as he went on to pick up more clothes for the trip next week. According to the official agenda, they will have 3 days to take pictures with the studio and 2 days to themselves. He grinned at the thought of how much catching up that would mean.

 

Kame knew he was fussing over the fact that he is going to meet his boyfriend that left him suddenly months ago. But he couldn’t help it. And asking Yamapi along was not helping.

 

“ Pi-chan..” Kame said coyly, “ You might need a bra to go with that…” He laughed before slamming the door of the fitting room shut, leaving a fuming Yamapi outside.

 

Departure:

 

It was that day. Finally it’s here.

 

Kame hugged his LV bag closer to himself as he proceeded with the rest of KAT-TUN and the bodyguards through the departure gates. Yamapi’s words echoed in his mind.

 

“ Don’t let him go this time.” Yamapi said with his serious expression, “ Let him know he belongs to you.”

 

Smiling to himself as he boarded their plane, Kame thought of the things he was going to do with Jin after their photoshoot.

It was going to be an interesting week.

 

Distraction:

 

“Kamenashi-san, can you please concentrate and look over there?”

 

It was the fifth time that afternoon that Kame messed up his photoshoot position. The rest of KAT-TUN could understand how he feels. Especially Junno and Ueda, who really cut down on their display of affection since that day where Kame curtly chided them when he was down.

 

Kame smiled when he looked into the skies. Now he’s really under the same sky as Jin.

 

When he was supposed to look at the ground, he thought of how wonderful it is that it is the same ground they are standing on; no longer separated by a vast ocean.

 

Luckily for Kame, the photoshoot managed to wrap up successfully despite his constant distraction.

 

“Kame-chan!” Koki said as he flung an arm around Kame, “ Jin called.”

 

Kame’s eyes widened.

 

“ H-he did?”

 

“He wants to meet us, tomorrow, for dinner.”

 

Kame smiled, the first time, from his heart.

 

Sweetness:

 

“ Kame… what are you trying to do in the suite’s kitchen!” Ueda asked, smelling a strange sweet scent as he entered the shared kitchen in their hotel suite.

 

“N-nothing,” Kame said, wiping his hands quickly on his apron and trying to cover up what he was trying to do.

 

But nothing could escape Ueda’s eyes.

 

“ Chocolate? For Jin?” Ueda asked teasingly.

 

Kame blushed and turned back to continue stirring the chocolate.

 

“He’d like it.” Ueda said, giving Kame a pat on the shoulder. “And Junno is going to be so jealous.”

 

Kame smiled.

 

 

Jin looked the same.

 

Thank goodness.

 

He did look slightly bigger and a lot more energetic than he was a few months ago.

 

Kame couldn’t help but put on his best smile as they sat down in a reserved VIP room in a Korean restaurant.

 

Jin was sitting right opposite him, his smile still as stunning as ever.

 

Jin, the one he had been crying over, the one he yearned for is now right in front of him, flashing him his famous Bakanishi smile.

 

“Kame~ place your order please! We’re hungry!” Complained Koki who was oblivious to the situation.

 

“Oh, ok..” Kame blushed slightly, and quickly placed his order.

 

They did a lot of catching up at the table and there was a lot of laughter. They were KAT-TUN… completed with Akanishi Jin.

 

Halfway through the meal, Kame felt something brush against his legs under the table. He did not bother looking under the table at all. Instead, he looked up at the man opposite him and flashed his cunning smirk.

 

It was all too familiar.

 

 

Such a happy occasion like the reuniting of KAT-TUN after so many months, alcohol must be present.

 

After a few rounds of drinks, Koki and Maru were thoroughly wasted as they lie in a pile in a corner. Junno and Ueda found their little corner, and were busy touching each other to care about what the rest were doing. Kame, who was a little tipsy, but still quite sober, was about to reach for another bottle of sake when Jin stopped him, grabbing hold of his hand.

 

“Don’t” He said, “ I don’t want you to forget what we’re about to do.”

 

“Hisashiburi desu ne… Bakanishi.” Kame grinned.

 

“Where are we going?” Kame asked as Jin dragged him out of the restaurant, after giving instructions to the staff that the rest of KAT-TUN will be spending the night in the room, and no one is to disturb.

 

“Somewhere,” Jin said. “Where no one will disturb us.”

 

Somehow it feels so good to have Jin holding his hand again. It has been some time.

 

Running away with Jin; it just feels so right.

 

 

Their destination was not far from the restaurant they were at. Few blocks away, there stood a five-star hotel. Kame was grateful that it was 3am in the morning and no normal fangirl will be stalking them now. It would have been tougher to make their way into the hotel in the day time.

 

Jin took the key from the receptionist, as if it was pre-arranged.

 

As soon as the elevator doors shut, Kame found himself pinned against the wall, feeling Jin’s breath against his cheeks. Jin leaned in, wanting to capture Kame’s lips with his, but was stopped by the smaller man.

 

“Why did you leave me?” Kame asked.

 

“ I wanted to study. I thought I could live without you.” Jin explained, “ …at least for a few months… but I can’t.”

 

“You …can’t?”

 

“Everywhere I look, every magazine I flip, even though everything is in English, the only word that appears in my mind is your name.”

 

Kame blushed. How long ago was it since Jin spoke in such a hushed and gentle tone to him? He forgot.

 

“I think ...I am intoxicated. With you.”

 

Jin leaned down this time, gently kissing his lover, before they broke into a passionate make out session.

 

 

How did they get into the room? Kame could not remember. 

All he remembered was Jin.

 

Jin’s soft lips sucking on his. The butterfly kisses of his that send shivers down Kame’s spine. Jin’s nimble fingers that swipe off his shirt in a matter of seconds before touching him in all the right places.

 

Kame felt feverish as that same passion took over him.

 

Everything that night was so detailed, so precious and yet also a blur. It was a blur of happiness, love and passion in their minds, but deep inside, both of them remembered every single detail. How they explored each other’s body, excite each other, and brought each other to the climax that both of them desired for ages.

 

Lust possessed them that night. But they loved it.

 

 

Kame woke up the next morning in Jin’s arms. He looked up at the other’s sleeping face, caressing his face to make sure that he was real. This was the man that caused him sleepless nights and tearful dreams. The man that left him suddenly was back with him again.

 

Slipping out of Jin’s arms carefully, Kame got up and limped towards the bathroom. Jin had not lost his touch. It still hurt as bad but it felt a lot like Heaven the night before. Kame blushed at his own recollections as he started to wash up.

 

As soon as he came out of the bathroom, dressed in a bathrobe, he felt arms around him once more.

 

“ O-hayou~” Jin mumbled.

 

“Ohayou… now go take a shower… you’re still... sticky.”

 

“… I didn’t hear you complaining last night…”

 

“I’m not complaining!” Kame retorted, “ Just go and shower, we have to meet the rest soon.”

 

“Shower with me.” Jin demanded.

 

“No… I just..sh-” Jin was not taking ‘no’ for an answer.

 

The next thing he knew, Kame found himself between Jin and the bathroom wall.

Love:

 

The two days flew by very quickly. It was the best time Kame have had for the past few months. KAT-TUN have not seen him smile so much in the past few months than he did in the past two days. But they had to leave and return to Japan soon.

 

“Jin, tell me you’re mine.”

 

“I’m yours.” Jin replied promptly.

 

“Can you come back with us?” Kame asked, giving Jin his puppy-eyes look.

 

“Sorry baby, I can’t.”

 

Kame’s eyes fell, his head drooped, looking at the ground.

 

“Three more months.” Jin promised, “ Three more months and I’ll be back with you.”

 

“Really?” Kame asked, awaiting a confirmation.

 

“Yes. I’ll be back with you, giving you all the love that you need.”

 

Kame nodded. He reached into his bag and pulled out a huge box.

 

“ What’s that?” Jin asked curiously.

 

“Happy Belated Valentine’s Day!”

 

Jin opened the box and gasped as he see small compartments separated by thing cardboard, each dated separately. He counted them, exactly 3 months.

 

“ One chocolate each day, so you’ll never forget Kame.” Kame smiled.

 

Jin was lost for words. How could he ever forget such a cute lover?

 

“I’ll be fat if I ate all this…” he commented.

 

Then, he leaned in closer to Kame and whispered, “ Sex is a good way to burn off all these calories you know?”

 

Kame blushed and hit Jin playfully on the arms.

 

“Just kidding!” Jin exclaimed and they both burst into laughter.

 

It was soon that they bid farewell and Kame returned to Japan with the rest of KAT-TUN.

 

As soon as he reached Japan, he received an mail from Jin.

 

“ I love you. Miss you already.”

 

“Three more months to go…”, Kame thought to himself.

 

 

The news was out, Jin will be back next week. Kame could not help but smile the whole week and only KAT-TUN knows why. He was exceptionally cheery on all the talk shows, the hosts got slightly irritated with him.

 

Jin was as cheerful as he took the last few pieces of chocolates from the box. In a few days time, he would be back in Japan. With an English certificate, and back in the biggest entertainment agency in Japan. Most importantly, back to his beloved Kame.

 

The day Jin arrived in Japan, the press were there at the airport. So were a lot of fans, some of the Johnny’s Juniors , Yamapi and other friends of Jin, and of course, KAT-TUN. After all the interviews and press conferences were done, the rest of KAT-TUN left the lovers alone, who headed for Jin’s home to help him unpack.

 

On the way there, Jin could not help but hold Kame’s hand, ignoring the weird stare from the taxi driver. Kame smiled, and look away non-chalantly, pretending nothing was going on.

 

Upon reaching Jin’s apartment, Kame opened the door and rushed in first, holding his arms wide open.

 

“Okaeri~” he said.

 

“Tadaima…Kazu-chan.” Jin smiled as he hugged his adorable boyfriend before pulling him in to a passionate kiss.

 

 

“Kazu-chan…” Jin whispered to the figure lying on his chest.

 

“Yes?” Kame looked up at Jin, making himself comfortable on the bed.

 

“ It’s your birthday today isn’t it?”

 

Kame thought hard. February…23^rd… Yes! It was his birthday… he nodded silently.

 

“ I … got you a couple of gifts.” Jin hesitated before getting up to reach into the drawer next to their bed.

 

Kame sat up on the bed in anticipation, covering his naked body with the blanket. Jin took out his laptop and placed it on the bed.

“Huh? The laptop?” Kame was puzzled but he decided to watch on.

 

Jin smirked as he quickly typed in a few words on the computer before turning the laptop so that Kame could see it.

 

“I bought a new translation software, and I stumbled upon this website…” Jin said.

 

Kame mouth fell opened as he read the translated webpage in shock. The words translated loosely into legible Japanese formed stories. Stories of him and Jin, how they loved each other and what they do to each other in detail.

 

“H-h-how did they know about us??” Kame asked, scrolling down to read more.

 

“ That… is fanfiction, baby.” Jin smiled. “ I thought, some of the ideas were pretty good. And maybe we should actually try a threesome with Pi. Or even Ryo.”

 

“You wouldn’t dare…” Kame glared at Jin as he slammed the laptop shut and put it on the nearby cabinet.

 

“ Why would I when I have you?” Jin grinned as he pushed Kame back onto the bed, pressing his lips on his.

 

Kame felt something cold slip into his mouth, something that was not Jin’s tongue. He pulled back and took the foreign object out.

 

“Happy Birthday, Kazu-chan.” Jin said breathlessly.

 

It was a silver ring, with the katakana characters ‘Akame’ engraved in the inner surface of the ring. Kame slowly slipped it into his finger, and Jin entwined their fingers together to show that he had a similar ring too.

 

A tear of happiness ran down Kame’s cheeks.

 

“I love you, Jin.”

 

“Me too. Forever and ever.”
